The survivors of Sandeep are only the parents who are already well settled and may be pensioners; whereas the family of the diseased at Malappuram may not have any other earning members and living in very poor conditions with an illiterate mother and school going kids. The compensation should be looked upon as token of sympathy, extending help for future survival of the dependants and not as a token of honour.
