Reading maketh a full man

Today, I get to write about one of my favourite activities of all times - reading. In school, we had to study the essays of Francis Bacon and one of his quotes has stayed in my mind.

"Reading maketh a full man; conference a ready man; and writing an exact man."
Francis Bacon

I grew up in a house abounding with books. My grandparents and my parents loved to read, and since in those days, books were not as expensive as they are today, they bought bundles of them as well. 

Not surprisingly, the reading habit continues in our family, with my daughter, and now her little daughter loving books as well.

Here are some quotes that seem to echo the thoughts of every reader.










I am sorry for posting so many quotes, but I couldn't resist doing so. The last quote says it all; 

"Reading changes us."

It has certainly changed me by opening up my mind and taking me to realms far beyond my imagination.
