THE ONES THAT STAND OUT! (TALES OF INCLUSIVITY) #WriteAPageADay
Dear Lord, please
give me the strength of heart
To look for them, the ones that
stand out;
The reserved little girl
who sits in a corner and cries,
The shy young boy
who struggles to make friends.
The hyperactive
little one who throws caution to the wind,
And rushes about, knocking everything in sight;
That special kid who finds
learning a bore, Math a chore
Who needs aid to form
a sentence, or read a book.
The innocent child
who watches his parents fight at home,
And knows not where
to turn because his haven is destroyed,
The oldest sibling
who sulks because the younger ones are more seen;
The ones who strive
hard but can never fulfil parental dreams.
That shattered family
where a parent is no more
The children trying
to come to terms with their grievous loss,
The father who has
lost his job in the pandemic
And suffers, trying to keep the
wolf from the door.
The tiny child who
cowers, finding a predator close to home
Who says nothing to
anyone, just keeps it all within;
Women who are molested, their self-worth ripped
While their abusers throw money around, go scot-free.
Hordes of young ones who watch the nation tear asunder
As people fight over
religion, politics and filthy lucre.
To look out for them, the ones that stand out.
